Simmons Knife & Saw, a leading manufacturer of high quality band and reciprocating cutting blades since 1946, is seeking an experienced, ambitious, highly motivated, Inside Sales Representative to join our team.   We proudly serve a variety of industries including foam, wood, pallet, leather, packaging, metal fabrication and machine shop, and food processing.

The successful candidate will be a solution oriented critical thinker who is not afraid to initiate phone calls necessary to generate business opportunities. The role will have a significant impact on our continued success and will provide the opportunity to learn the nuances of our industry.

This position will work very closely with our Outside Sales team and will report to our Director of Sales and Marketing.


  • Complete cold call prospecting activities.
  • Qualify leads to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
  • Research, build and maintain a list of target companies within each designated territory.
  • Solicit orders from current/past customers.
  • Answer customer service calls. Includes routing calls, screening calls, taking messages, taking orders, giving verbal quotes, etc.
  • Assist in resolving technical questions/issues and other troubleshooting matters.
  • Prepare customer quotations and/or proforma invoices.
  • Enter sales orders. Includes proofreading orders, faxing/emailing order acknowledgements to customers and filing paperwork.
  • Maintain an active knowledge of our products, pricing, services and industry.
  • Track sales activity.
  • Enter and update information in customer management database.
  • Provide backup support for Customer Service Department.
  • Assist with other sales/marketing tasks as needed.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of prospecting and inside sales experience.
  • Knowledge of second language a plus.
  • Proficient use of computer system, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent communication/correspondence skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding multi-tasking skills.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with industrial products helpful.
  • Working knowledge of Goldmine and/or Made2Manage software a plus.
